Busan INNOPOLIS, held Innovation Day for Shared Growth with Innovative Companies, Large Enterprises, and SMEs

- Established a foothold for entry into new industries and shared growth through cooperation between large enterprises and SMEs-

 

Busan INNOPOLIS (Director Seo Dong-Gyeong, hereinafter “Busan INNOPOLIS”) of the Korea Innovation Foundation announced that it held “BUSAN Pre-Innovation Day” in Busan Eurasia Platform on the 19th to support win-win growth and investment attraction for innovative startups through collaboration between large enterprises and startups.

 

 At the event, 21 science and technology-based startups and large corporations interested in collaborating with startups, such as LG Electronics, POSCO Technology Investment, and Lotte Ventures, had a chance to exchange with each other.

 

Each large enterprise introduced collaboration programs and examples of collaboration with affiliates in various fields, such as industry linkage, market development, investment, and joint research.

 

  * Cases of corporate venture capital (CVC) investment and collaboration with affiliates (Lotte), ▴How to participate in open innovation of large enterprise (LG Electronics), ▴VC-based startup investment (POSCO), etc.

 

 Practical advice was also shared, such as “Things to consider before starting collaboration,” so that participating innovative startups can seek suitable opportunities for collaboration with large enterprises.

 

In addition, ten pre-selected companies, including ▴GenLife (bacteriophage sensor device) and ▴Drone Station (SH Robotics), introduced their products and services for actual investment linkage and got one-on-one consulting opportunities to review investments and receive feedback on growth strategies

 

Even after the event, Busan INNOPOLIS will continue to prepare open innovation and industry-academia-research networks that listens to the opinions of participating companies and investors, discovers excellent companies, and coexists with large, small and medium-sized startups.

 

Seo Dong-Gyeong, Director of the Busan INNOPOLIS, said, “Through this event, we hope to support the growth of innovative companies based on science and technology and to establish a self-sustaining cooperative ecosystem between companies through the spread of an open innovation culture.”
