□ The Korea Innovation Foundation (President Kang Byung-Sam, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Foundation’) announced on the 17th (Tue) that it will conduct field trips to the Daedeok INNOPOLIS with 21 foreign civil servant students from 17 countries as part of the global industry-academia-linked regular lectures opened in cooperation with Seoul National University’s Global R&DB Center (Director Hwang, Jun-Seok).
ㅇ Seoul National University’s global industry-academia-linked regular lecture (course title: Seminar on Emerging Technologies), held for 21 foreign public officials from 17 countries, consists of learning about the technology commercialization process of spin-off companies in Daedeok INNOPOLIS and an innovative ecosystem experience program through site visits.
□ During this field trip, visiting innovative institutions such as KAIST and seven spin-off companies that participated as instructors, they had time to experience the innovative ecosystem of Daedeok INNOPOLIS, including first-hand experience of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and start-up support programs.
ㅇ Through this site visit, international students who have improved their understanding of the seven spin-off companies participating in the regular lectures will advise companies on matters to be aware of, such as government policies, regulations, and local channels, when spin-off companies enter their country in the future.
□ Heiner Camacho, an international student from the Central Bank of Colombia who visited Daedeok INNOPOLIS, mentioned, "I was deeply impressed by the Daedeok INNOPOLIS model in which research institutes and companies cooperate to create synergy, and I will think of ways to apply the Daedeok INNOPOLIS model to Colombia in the future."
□ Kang Byung-Sam, President of The Foundation, said, “Exchange and cooperation in the global field start from getting to know each other, and the Foundation will put more effort into building channels that can be used by industry, academia, and research institutes in the INNOPLOLIS when entering the global market, such as this lecture.”
