Korea Innovation Foundation, Publication of an English book to pass on the Korean-style science complex
– Will be distributed as an e-book to 416 policy makers in 71 developing countries -
□ Korea Innovation Foundation (President Byung-Sam Kang, hereafter referred to as 'INNOPOLIS') announced that "English book 『The Road to Korea-Science Technology Park(K-STP)』 has been published to help policy makers in developing countries, who are interested in the INNOPOLIS Model, understand the Korean-style science park in a more diverse way.
□ This English book is a compilation of the main contents of the K-STP program* for developing countries. In particular, it is meaningful in that it explains the innovation ecosystem of INNOPOLIS with ten experts in each field, such as science and technology policy, innovation ecosystem, and technology com
* K-STP (Korea Science and Technology Park) program: A knowledge sharing education program for policymakers in developing countries who wish to benchmark the INNOPOLIS model
ㅇ This book focuses on creating, operating, and activating INNOPOLIS, consisting of ▲ Korea’s science and industrial policies, ▲ industry-academia-research cooperation systems and cases, and ▲ the role of INNOPOLIS innovators.
ㅇ It can be used as an introductory book for policymakers in developing countries to benchmark Korean-style science parks in that it covers both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives for the creation of science parks.
□ This English book will be distributed as an e-Book to 416 policymakers in 71 developing countries via INNOPOLIS channels. And the e-Book can be found on both English and Korean website (www.innopolis.or.kr, www.innopolis.or.kr/eng).
ㅇ In addition, the printed book will be distributed to embassies of each country, global related organizations, and universities within INNOPOLIS to promote INNOPOLIS's innovative ecosystem.
□ Byung-Sam Kang, president of the Korea Innovation Foundation, said, “I want this book, which contains the know-how of the establishment and operation of INNOPOLIS, to reach developing countries by teaching them how to catch fish rather than giving them fish. And INNOPOLIS will continue to make efforts to spread K-STP, a K-wave in science and technology.”
