INNOPOLIS K-STP (Korea Science & Technology Park) program started in earnest!
- 91 applications from 17 countries, reconfirmed INNOPOLIS model transfer fever -
INNOPOLIS (President Byung-Sam Kang, Kang Byung-sam, hereafter referred to as 'INNOPOLIS') will start the 'K-STP Program' on the 9th (Monday) for countries wishing to introduce Korea's Science & Technology Park (K-STP) model. ) in the morning of 9th (Mon)
The K-STP program is a training course that transfers knowledge related to the development, creation, and operation of the Daedeok R&D Special Zone (hereinafter 'Daedeok INNOPOLIS'), which is a representative model of Korea Science & Technology Park, to public officials and related person to science parks in developing countries.
From 2008, 387 science park officials from 70 countries took this course during
the 20th session period, and Ecuador, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, and Egypt benchmarked the K-STP model to create their own science parks.
In the meantime, this program's 21st and 22nd sessions are planned for this year and next year.
Even though this program is being held online, unlike in the past due to COVID-19, the response from officials in science parks in developing countries is high: Practical curriculum such as program operation, practical training for local application, and 1:1 mentoring seem to have played a significant role.
For the efficient operation of this program, INNOPOLIS selected 69 applicants from 17 countries based on Daedoek INNOPOLIS Model Transfer suitability, job relevance, and the possibility of cooperation among 91 applicants from 17 countries to start the 'K-STP program' in earnest.
Each curriculum, segmented by region, involves 9 to 12 trainees and is conducted in the form of consulting to realize the 'Project Idea' discovered in advance related to creating and developing their own country's science complex.
In addition, this year, based on the strength of the online program, we plan to continue mentoring even after the program is over and seek ways to connect and cooperate with each other.
