- Connection between Gwangju and Busan INNOPOLIS companies and campus startups-
□ Korea Innovation Foundation (President Byung-Sam Kang) announced that it would hold the “Gwangju-Busan Innopolis Campus Exchange Meeting” on the 20th.
ㅇ Seoul National University's global industry-university-linked regular course (course name: Seminar on Emerging Technologies, 3 credits) provides 21 overseas public officials from 17 countries with 7 companies of INNOPOLIS to learn about the technology commercialization process and build a network for overseas expansion. Courses were provided. * Weeks 1~8: Sharing the status of INNOPOLIS and INNOPOLIS companies, Weeks 9~15: On-site visits and discussion of overseas expansion channels, etc.
ㅇ INNOPOLIS Campus is a project to support innovative technology startups that lead the future by utilizing universities' innovative infrastructure and capabilities within INNOPOLIS.
ㅇ Total 4 project groups, including Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Jeonnam University, Korea Maritime University, and Dongeui University, participated in introducing each university’s specialized startup support strategies (GIST’s AI startup education, etc.)
▲ The joint use of (startup mentors and technology startup specialized education, etc.) and ▲measures for the convergence of innovative companies were discussed.
□ In addition, INNOPOLIS plans to actively utilize the new technology demonstration exception* system to discover innovative items that can demonstrate new technology and support the granting of regulatory exceptions along with demonstration R&D support.
* This is a regulatory exemption system that prevents all or part of the relevant regulations from being applied within INNOPOLIS when it is difficult to demonstrate new technology due to existing regulations. |
□ Kang Byung-sam, President of Korea Innovation Foundation said, “Technology convergence of various industries is essential to create innovative new industries. We will actively support you to do this.”
